My husband, Jean-Marc and I visited Ngome in Natal South Africa on the 5th of November 2012 where Mary is to have appeared to Sister Reinolda May between 1955 to 1958. Ngome then became a designated place of prayer and healing for people in search of healing and grace. It is a place where pilgrims can come and pray, and a place where they are asked to turn their lives around, turn back to Jesus so there can be peace and healing in their lives, in their homes and in our desperate world.
The pilgrimage we were on had been organised by our Priest Fr Jonathan for the parish of St Johns Northriding Johannesburg. We desperately wanted to go as our son Jean-Michel who had been in a very serious accident two years before with contusion and bleeding on the brain was suffering now two years later with double vision. Two operations were done on his eye to try and rectify his vision but nothing could get it back to where it used to be. So when we heard there was a pilgrimage to Ngome we were delighted as we thought at that stage only divine intervention would make his eyes right.
So we set off in November 2012 by bus to Ngome. We arrived at our destination at about 4 pm. What an awesome sight ! Ngome - a place of pilgrimage in the hills of Natal, South Africa, covered in mist. One could sense the peace straight away. God in the mountains.
So our retreat started.
During the talks I was touched by the meaning of an apparition being an element of something divine on our earth. I also noted that Mary appears in times of great persecution and suffering. She predicted the world war in 1917. From the talks I understood that God takes a challenging situation and makes good out of it. I was still waiting for the good in Jean Michel's serious accident.
Walking in procession by candle light to the Chapel of Apparition in the mist was an amazing experience. We prayed the rosary in the languages of the people that were present - what a God-filled moment. The healing service and consecration of our family brought me to my knees and in tears while I prayed Jean-Michel's complete healing.
The pilgrimage came to an end with a thanksgiving Mass. There were requests for anyone to talk about their experience of the retreat. I recall standing up in front of everyone and stating that I thanked God for choosing me to be on this spiritual journey and I confirmed that I would make a rosary in five languages dedicated to Africa. I am a musician and I am in the music ministry at St Johns Catholic Church, Northriding, Johannesburg. I felt very strongly that I was being asked to do this.
So we returned to our daily tasks and I carried on praying for our son and started making enquiries into producing the rosary cd. Two weeks later Jean- Michel went for a routine check up with the eye specialist in Pretoria. What came out from this visit was absolutely incredible and amazing - the specialist said to him that he didn't know what had happened to his eyes but everything was in order and his eyes were back to normal. Needless to say who we think is responsible for this miracle. We believe that our prayers were answered and that there was divine intervention that allowed our son to be healed from this crippling ailment.
Jean Michel has since qualified as a Veterinarian from the Onderstepoort University in Pretoria. Praise God. Alleluia!
Hence the birth of this rosary cd.
Please pray for Africa, pray for our world.
Yours in Christ
